Match Report

Oct 9 Durham City B 4 1 Well beaten by (probably) the best team in the league, yours truly the only winner. They're my prediction for the league championship.
Oct 23 Hartlepool 3 2 An absolute nightmare result for us, they are/will be the whipping boys of the league (in theory anyway!) Two points lost. Shite result!
Nov 6 Bishop Auckland A First points of the season, "HUZZAH!!" As usual a close contest. The Bishop lads are quite similar to ourselves as in their beer consumption and sense of humour. A late night by all.
Nov 27 Darlington Knights 0 5 With "Pretty Boy" Armbruster joining us on top board, we now have a team capable of climbing and dare I say it topping the table. Our first win of the season! "Ole ole ole ole!"
Jan 8 Hetton Lyons B Two wins and three draws sealed the win. That's two in a row now, this chess malarkey is a piece of piss man!
Jan 24 Durham City B 3 2 Four draws and one loss, a better showing than our first meeting. Their new venue was absolutely freezing cold, couldn't concentrate for shivering, bloody awful conditions.
Feb 5 Hartlepool 2 3 What a different team we faced from our first meeting! Their top 3 boards were totally different and much stronger. It makes our victory even sweeter. Game of the night was on board 4 look at this little gem. Excellent result!
Feb 12 Bishop Auckland A We've inflicted the Bishops first defeat of the season on them! Finish of the night was on board 1. It was a case of missed opportunities. Have a gander.
Mar 19 Darlington Knights Armbruster and Smith with totally 'won' games LOST! It was the 1st time 'the vitch' had EVER lost to his opponent. Only Carter's draw (in a lost position with less than a minute on his clock!) was the only piece of luck we had. They only had 4 players too, so our solitary point came from that Dutch fella Default.
Apr 2 Gateshead ½ A comprehensive victory for the lads, only JR conceding a draw on the bottom board, and that was only because he was in desperate time trouble in a winning position!
Apr 17 Hetton Lyons B 1 4 No Armbruster on board one, but a victory against the team propping up the league was never in doubt! They had a player missing too, so it was a default apiece.
May 8 Gateshead Armbruster and Carter bring home the bacon, with Smith scraping another bore draw. A fair result, which leaves us finishing the season in mid-table mediocrity.
