Match Report

Oct 7 Stokesley A workmanlike performance, where the game could have easily gone the other way.
Oct 21 Elmwood This game should have been a draw, in the last game Walton was 4 pawns down and somehow managed to swindle a win in a time scramble! Funny old game this chess malarkey!
Nov 7 Middlesbrough A Excellent result against one of our nearest rivals.
Dec 2 Whitby 0 5 Wipe-out! A comfortable victory, helped by Whitby having a 4 man team.
Dec 16 Guisborough 1 4 That's 5 out of 5 and puts us back on top of the league.
Jan 7 Redcar 6/6 The score I'd have hoped for before the game. Carter played a nice game, which will be online soon. Simpson & Walton won (as usual) another tired draw from Smith.
Jan 28 Stokesley Fair play to Stokesley, the bottom 3 boards could have went either way and they won the mini-battle 2½ v ½. it gives Darlo and Boro A some hope too!
Feb 17 Darlington Top of the table clash ends in stalemate.
Feb 24 Middlesbrough A 3 2 We suffer our first defeat of the season, well done to the Boro.
Feb 26 Elmwood 1 4 Back to winning ways, not a draw in sight!
Mar 3 Redcar 2 3 Yet another narrow victory, we always seem to just scrape by Redcar.
Mar 23 Whitby ½ With probably our weakest side this season we score our best result, funny old game in it?
Apr 23 Guisborough In all fairness, we should have lost this game, but fortune was in our favour (as usual)
May 4 Darlington 2 3 This secured us the title for another year, though we do have to share it with Middlesbrough A.
